White wine vs. red wine

Most wine drinkers among us have their preferences of red wine or white wine, and this is mostly based on taste. Nevertheless, it is good to take the nutritional values of the wines into consideration. It also important to keep in mind that the sweeter the wine, the more sure sugar is in it.

The main ingredient in wine is, of course, grapes. Red wines are made with whole dark red and black grapes including the skin. The skin adds flavor to red wines, and this is the reason why these wines have a richer flavor.

For the white wine, white grapes are used without skins or seeds. Many white wines have a light and fruity taste only certain white wines have a richer taste.

In the chart below you see the most important nutrients from each wine.

Red wine wins when we compare the nutrients above and as you can see contains not as much sugar as white wine, but always keep in mind that wine also contains alcohol, which means try to get not more than 1 glass per day. 🙂
