All that time you spend getting “bikini ready” for a beach vacation can be undone with this one very common thing. With each bite, each sip, you can undo your very hard work and make it that much harder to resume normal life at home.
Here are some tips from us how to enjoy your vacation but still make the right choices.
- Choose small dishes
- Share bigger portions
- Share desserts and have just 3-teaspoon of it max.
- Cappuccino/Latte macchiato works great as a dessert
- Don’t put extra salt on your food
- Don’t drink alcohol/sodas with your meals
Fried food, bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, any grains and flour, milk products like cream & cheese, mayonnaise, butter, pork (bacon, salami, sausages), creamy soups, juice, fruits, soda, alcohol, ketchup, mustard, sugar, salt, peanuts, croutons.

Of course you should let loose a bit and eat whatever the town has to offer. You might be in Spain and would like to enjoy their famous types of Paella with a nice glass of wine. Indulge! But make sure you do this in moderation. Choose one meal or one day when you’re really enjoying all the goodness. Then back to normal and eat consciously.
Bring Your Own Snacks
When you know you will be out for the whole day. Try to prepare some snacks so you don’t depend on the food they have on the road. Bring a boiled egg, some fruit, energy bars, some healthy nuts (walnuts, cashews), raw veggies and dark chocolate are some options. Coffee is also e good alternative, don’t eat a cake with it though. Believe me, this will save you from running to the closest fast food restaurant when you get hungry.
Lastly, but for sure not the lease important. Vacation is supposed to be a time to relax and rejuvenate. Don’t make yourself crazy by counting every calorie. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t adhere to your usual fantastic regime. Just make the best food choices you can and ENJOY!.
