It’s Bed Time, Baby!

Our modern lifestyle, with its accompanying sleep pattern, puts extra stress on the body. Not sleeping properly corrupts the hormone, which is why you find yourself eating more when you are sleep deprived. SLOW DOWN AND SWITCH OFF

Try to avoid high-intensity exercises after 7p.m. as it will raise your cortisol (stress hormone) levels, which isn’t what you want when you need to unwind and sleep well. Yoga or Pilates will help you to distress before bed.

Two ours before bed, try to turn off your laptop, TV and mobile phone. All this thinks are stimulants, and will make it harder for you to drift off. Your brain needs to relax, that”s why you should better listen to relaxing music or just meditation before bed.

Check the temperature in your room! The perfect temperature is 16-18C.

 

TAKE POWER NAPS

Have a 15minutes nap during the day. If you cant fall asleep just have a 15minutes lay down, but please turn of your phone and all the other electronic gadgets. Try to breath deep and relax.

 

ESTABLISH A BEDTIME ROUTINE

Try to go to bed every day at the same time (+/- 30 minutes). Before bed time establish a relaxing ritual, this could be a beauty routine, a relaxing bath or reading a chapter of your favorite book!

 

DO SOME STRETCHING JUST BEFORE BED

Stretching will help you to lower your cortisol level and release any tension.

Sex causes the release of endorphines into the body which calms you done and induces sleep!
